Months before I narrowed the focus for my 1st REAL School book: "Finding Purpose with Adolescent Education", I reflected on a variety of broader themes. Some of these stemmed directly from my experience with tutoring in Fall 2022, and others were a compilation of earlier brainstorms (Learning vs School, Understanding Students, etc...). Altogether I had 3 separate rounds of reflection, the last of which was a list of potential chapters on the big picture of using REAL School thinking to pursue lasting change in American education. I proceeded to draft most of that theoretical 1st chapter: "The Misdirection of Educational Crises".  In the spirit of transparency for this REAL School outlook that preceded its public discussion and/or action, I have shared these reflections as well as the 1st chapter draft in the Links Below on this page.
